The cost of this energy is very high because you need to buy the solar cells first. Biomass energy is a renewable energy. We can get the sources in a short period of time. But we can get fossil fuel in a long period of time such as million years later. Form all the above analysis, I found that biomass energy is the best energy to replace fossil fuel. it is also better than solar energy and nuclear energy.
Nowadays, fossil fuels are very important to human. And it is the most popular energy used by human. It is because it can be refined by fractional distillation to manufacture many kinds of fuels for different uses in daily life. For example, Liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) can be used for fuel for taxis and domestic fuel. Diesel oil can make fuels for lorries, buses and trains etc. Naphtha can make production of town gas. However, although Fossil fuels are very useful to human development, fossil fuels have caused many environmental problems and pollution, such as air pollution and global warming. Moreover, the maximum rate of global petroleum extraction had reached, and the rate started to descend after it reached its peak. Also, fossil fuel is a non-renewable energy resource so it will be used up one day.
As we know fossil fuel will be used up one day, many scientists started to find out the other alternative energy to replace fossil fuels, such as biomass energy, solar power and wind energy.
I think that biomass energy is not the best alternative energy to replace fossil fuels. We can use comparison to prove that biomass energy is not the best alternative energy.
First, the source of biomass energy is plants and animals. And the most frequently way to convert them to electricity or chemical is formed by four processes of combustion, torrefaction, pyrolysis and Gasification. In the process of combustion, the carbon from biomass will be released into the atmosphere so it can also increase the greenhouse gases and the Earth still have global warming. Moreover, using biomass as a fuel will produce the same air pollution challenges as fossil fuels because the amount of carbon dioxide released by biomass energy extraction isn’t effectiveness to reduce releasing any greenhouse gases. Furthermore, biomass is the second largest contributor to global warming.
For the solar power, it is a renewable resource too. It is generation of electricity from sunlight. The primary advantage of collect solar power is: solar power is non-polluting because it does not emit greenhouse gases so it won’t pollute the eco-system. Moreover, it can convert solar energy directly into electricity. Meanwhile, the energy resource of solar power is from the sunlight so it doesn’t have to pay. The solar cells are required very little maintenance and the cells have a very long life time so that we don’t have to spend a lot of money to maintain the solar thermal collector. As a result, solar power collection is very convenient, fast and it is environmentally friendly.
Lastly, we will talk about wind energy. Wind energy is also a renewable energy source. It is to let the wind to turn the blades of a windmill. It’s just like a large fan on the hill, the wind blows the blades from the windmill and the blades make the turbine rotate and so, electricity is produced. As the process is non-polluting and free energy source, just like solar power.
There is a question always raised to reject the advantages of solar power and wind energy---the extraction of energy need a large area of land. Nevertheless, we can find that most of the alternative energy extractions including biomass energy, even fossil fuels extraction also need a large area of land. Therefore, this problem can’t prove that biomass energy is the best alternative energy of fossil fuels.
After the above analysis and comparison, we can find that biomass energy extraction has very many disadvantages, such as releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, cause air pollution and the energy source is not free. Meanwhile, we can see that using solar power and wind energy are better than using biomass energy. Therefore, biomass energy is not the best alternative energy to replace the use of fossil fuels.
The people have used the fossil fuels for many years, but there are always have the end of the things. Fossil fuels are not the exception. Also, fossil fuels have many disadvantages. In 2006, price of ethanol was once higher than price of oil for US$1. Also, the engines will have to be developed to use the biofuel. More money is needed for the development of engines that can use biomass as fuels. Therefore, it is expensive to use biomass energy. I think one of the important is that burning biomass energy would cause the food crisis. There have many people who do not have enough food to continue their lifes. If the people burning the biomass energy, it would need many food. So the people cannot have the food. And it would be seem that the burning of the energy are even more important than the lifes of the people. Some people think that using biomass and replanting helps close the carbon dioxide cycle, so it would not cause the global warming. However, if the crops are not replanted, then the biomass can emit carbon dioxide that will contribute toward global warming. It would also cause some pollution during the process.
There have other different kinds of alternative energy. Just like the tidal wave energy: tidal power. It is the energy that uses the natural motion of tide to make the energy. It is also a kind of renewable energy source. Also, the energy source and the pollution are free. But the disadvantage are that it needs a lot of space to build up the tidal power generation. And the severe storms may destroy the power generation equipment. It may disrupt shipping or fishing too.
The wind energy is the other kind of alternative energy. It uses the power of the wind to produce the electricity. It is a renewable energy and the energy resource is free. Moreover, it would not produce the chemical pollution during the process of producing the energy. Yet it also have the disadvantages, it needs large areas of land to put the wind turbines and it is not always windy. If it does not have the wind, it cannot produce the electricity.
In conclution, although both of the tidal wave energy ans the wind energy have the disadvantages. The biomass energy also have the disadvantages. And I think that the biomass energy are not mature enough to replace the fossil fuels. It is not the best alternative energy to replace the fossil fuels.

Second, it will cause food crisis. There are many people are not enough for eat and many people are died because they have nothing to eat. If we use so much food to be fuel, the remaining foods are not enough for us. It will cause a more serious food crisis in the world. Therefore, the prices of food will increases; people cannot buy food easily extreme disparity between the rich and the poor and the poverty gap will become more lager. Details of a criminal case will be increase because people are so hungry and they take food by storm. All country or city will be disarray.
On the other hand, I think that using solar energy or wind energy is better than using biomass energy. Solar energy is more stable than biomass energy and it is a renewable resource. Although it cannot be utilized at night or on cloudy days, its availability may be generally relied upon day after day. The solar energy supply will last as long as the sun. Wind energy also is a renewable energy and Wind power is an alternative energy source that harnesses the power of the wind. Wind is a renewable and clean source of energy, it is an abundant source of energy to power wind turbines for electricity and turbines that produce energy do not produce greenhouse gases or air pollution.
In conclusion, I think that the biomass energy is not the best alternative energy to replace the use of fossil fuels. Biomass energy may be one of the solutions to solve the problem of using fossil fuels, but not the best way to solve this problem.

However, it is difficult to find a suitable place to build the windmills because it takes up a lot of space and that place should have strong wind. This energy is very unreliable and unstable as wind is not always available. Besides, the cost for the windmills is high. Nuclear energy involves the use of radioactive substances to generate electricity. It is very effective and reliable as only a small amount of radioactive substances is needed to generate a large amount of energy. However, radioactive substances are fatal to human. If leakage of these substances occurs, it kills people. In addition, it pollutes water, air and earth, people will have a higher chance of getting cancer and deformed baby. In America, there was a radiocative leakeged many years ago, many people was killed in the accident. The evident that radiocative substance is extremely harmful to our human body. The age of the organisms that form fossil fuels is typically millions of years, and sometimes exceeds 650 million years so we called it as non renewable energy. These fuels contain a high percentage of carbon and hydrocarbons. As this kind of non renewable energy are not good enough for us, something should be replace it and I think biomass energy is the best type of renewable energy to replace the foosil fuel.
Firstly, biomass is solar energy stored in organic matter, such as wood, agricultural crop residue and organic waste. As trees and plants grow, the process of photosynthesis uses energy from the sun to convert carbon dioxide into carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the organic compounds that make up biomass. When plants die, the process of decay releases the energy stored in carbohydrates and discharges carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere. Biomass is a renewable energy source because the growth of new plants and trees replenishes the supply. For today’s fossil fuels (i.e. oil, natural gas and coal), they are formed over millions of years when organic matter was transformed through natural processes in the earth. Fossil fuels are not renewable. The oil, natural gas and coal we use today are gone forever. As fossil fuels are scares, the price will become more and more expensive.
Secondly, the use of biomass for energy causes no net increase in carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. As trees and plants grow, they remove carbon from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. If the amount of new biomass growth balances the biomass used for energy, bioenergy is carbon dioxide "neutral." That is, the use of biomass for energy does not increase carbon dioxide release in the air and will not have any risk of global warming and abnormal climate change.
Thirdly, using biomass to produce energy is also a way to arrange of waste materials that otherwise would create environmental risks. Living plant material is the source of all biomass fuel. Some biomass fuel resources are waste products left over after plant materials have been used for other purposes or consumed by animals. Other biomass resources are plant materials directly harvested for their energy value.
Finally, people may think that there are many natural renewable energy such as solar power energy, wind power energy, nuclear energy so why we use biomass energy. To extract these kind of energy, it needs to cost a lot of money and effort(government) on it and also the process are not convenient enough for us and its really complicated. There is a survey report from US talking about we need to pay for 1 million dollar per month to extract the power for a small town only but the cost of biomass energy is far more cheaper than those.

By the technology nowadays, I think biomass energy is the most suitable energy to replace fossil fuels. Although it do not have that large efficiency but if you compare with other alternative energy, you will found that it is the most possible to replace fossil fuels as the major energy resources. Tidal power, hydro-electrical power, geothermal power, it is difficult to find a suitable place to be the resources of these kind of renewable energy. Wind power, we may not have such wind to run the turbine all the time. Solar power is expensive and no energy can be produce at night. Nuclear power is difficult to reduce the entire harmful ray and it will destroy the environment. But biomass will not bring the above problem. It have stable resources, not very expensive and will not bring such heavy destroy to the environment.

It also takes up more water from the earth and other fossil fuels to make the fertilizers and fuels for planting and harvesting. it also takes up more land for the crops and trees.
Third, it emission more carcinogens into the air and some toxic gases when burn it in incinerator to produce energy. It will affect human health. Human may get sick more easy and they need to see doctor more times than before. Therefore, it is not good for human.
I think another alternative energies can also be replace fossil fuels such as hydroelectric and wind energy. Although hydroelectric, wind energy and biomass fuel are renewable energy resources, hydroelectric and wind energy have more advantage than biomass fuel. The energy resource of Hydroelectric is virtually free. Pumping water into a reservoir released from other needed resources can be stored. Pollution free. The energy resource of Wind energy is also free. It doesn’t have any chemical pollution, too. Both of hydroelectric and wind energy do not release any toxic gas. ReplyDeleteBiomass is organic materials made from plants and animals. It is a renewable wnergy source since we can always grow more trees and crops, and waste will always exist. Besides, using biomass can help reduce global warming . Plants store carbon dioxide as they grow, when they decomposed or are burned, the carbon dioxide stored in the plants is released. By replanting the crops, the new plants can use the carbon dioxide produced by the burned plants. So using biomass and replanting helps close the carbon cycle.
Although biomass fuel is renewable, its extraction process may take a long time. Moreover, engines will have to be developed to use biofuels and so, the carbon dioxide produced by the engines maybe greater than the carbon dioxide the crops intake. In this case, planting crops cannot close down the carbon cycle, in the contrary, it may worsen the global warming. The main impact brought by the biofuels is that it may cause the food crisis. Biomass fuel required large fields of crops or waste. When there are poverty in the world, how can we use the food to produce fuels but not to feed the people who are in need? This is also a big question for the biomass fuels.
Fossil fuels is non-rewable and the combustion will cause lots of pollution, however, it is readily available. Extracting biomass fuel needto take a long time while fossil fuels are readily available. Also, fossil fuels are more effective than the biofuels. We need to burn many crops to release energy while fossil fuels use a little.
In conclude, biomass energy is not the best energy to replace the use of fossil fuels.

ReplyDeleteAs the modern city developed, the electricity demand has been increasing so far. Fossil fuel, the main source of our energy is going to be used up after years. It is a non-renewable source. Moreover, fossil fuels have lots of disadvantages. Its emission of carbon dioxide will cause global warming, acid rain and serious air pollution, which ruin our healthy gravely. Only the advanced technology, alternative energy can be invented so as to minimize the pollutions brought to the environment. Therefore, we are supposed to be finding the best alternative energy to replace fossil fuels.
A lot of experts have assumed that biomass energy is the best choice to replace fossil fuels. Biomass energy is to extract ethanol from crops, waste, manure and some other kind of substances and burn it to produce heat, and finally convert heat into electricity. Replanting process of biofuels can help to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide because as we know, photosynthesis takes place on plants and help regenerating oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. For the above reason, many people believe that biomass energy might be the last hope.
It is ridiculous to judge before getting known of its bad side. Biomass energy requires a lot of plants to complete combustion and it needs a massive area to grow plants. In addition, the engines for the process of producing energy will have to be developed. Considering as of the best alternative energy, efficiency is one of the keys. Nevertheless, the extraction process of biofuels takes a long time. With such low efficiency, how can it be the best alternative energy? Other than that, not only the inconvenience but also problems will come across. Biomass energy burns food. However, there are a lot of poor countries, which lacks food. Under this condition, the food price must rise if biomass energy is encouraged to develop in great intensity. That’s why I strongly disagree using biomass energy. Actually, it is believed that there are some other better methods.
Have you heard about wind energy? Wind energy is to let the wind to turn the blades of a windmill. Blades make the turbine rotate and electricity is produced. Wind energy is also a renewable energy source. Although the energy source is not always available and also requires large landfills, its advantages seem more convincible. The better point is that the source is free and there is no any chemical pollution. Biomass energy can only produce energy with little pollution but wind energy produce energy with NO pollution.
No doubt, solar power is also a good example to prove that biomass is not the best. Solar power is widely used in different countries and its efficiency is higher than that of biomass one. The solar cell can directly generate electricity without turbines and electromagnet. Might be solar has a variable power supply because you know; there is no sunshine at night. There are limited amount of sunshine in certain region. Despite its variable power supply, solar power is also considered as one of the best energy. First of all, it is renewable. More importantly, it can convert solar energy directly into electricity. It is convenient and fast. Meanwhile, the energy source is also free and we don’t need to spend a lot of money to develop the facilities and for the extraction process and transporting as biomass does.
After analyzing biomass energy and two other kinds of energy, we find that the disadvantages biomass energy might bring might be more than its good. It costs food price rise and has low efficiency. Thus, it is not suitable to be as the best alternative energy. Wind and solar power are better energy than it since it causes no chemical pollutions and the source is free. However, they are not perfect at all. They will sometimes be not available. Even though they are not perfect, their potentials after being improved are much bigger than biomass energy. Considering this point, biomass still can’t be the best alternative energy.
I think the government’s proposal that bans on “idling engine” is good for the environment and the earth. It is because this proposal can reduce the toxic gases(The pollutants such as particulates,sulphur dioxide,nitrogen oxides,ozone and carbon monocide) which is come from the car. Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Oxides will cause headaches, aggravates Asthme and allergies, lung disease and impaired learing.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Emissions table, we can see that the air pollutants when the engine switched off is 0.If the government bans on idling engine, the air will be fresher.
Although this proposal can improve our environment, it isn’t each people agree. For example, There are a taxi owner and driver.If he have to switch off the engine when he are waiting the passenger.When the passenger get on the taxi,he will be feel so hot.And this will be reduce the income of the taxi driver..
Nowadays, burning fossil fuel causes many environment problems such as air pollution, acid rain, greenhouse effect etc. Also, the fossil fuel is not enough for us. Therefore, scientists want to find some alternative energy such as wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy etc. to replace fossil fuel. However, it needs large area of land to put wind turbines and also they need much money to build up the wind turbines. Moreover, it is not always windy. If we use wind energy as our main energy, one day, there isn’t any wind to let the turbine rotate, then there is no electricity is generated.

Second, Solar energy is an energy which have solar cell to generate electricity without the need of a turbine and an electromagnet. Furthermore, it converts solar energy directly into electrical energy. Also, Production process will not cause the environmental pollution. However, there are some same disadvantages of wind energy. It needs to use large surface area to trap sufficient solar radiation. If we need to use a large surface area for putting the large field of solar cells, it costs much money too. In addition, it is unstable for having solar energy all the day, because there is no sunshine in the dark. As a result, I think solar energy is unstable and expensive.
Third, biomass energy is a renewable fuel. Biomass energy burns the waste products of human or animals to generate energy. It is also organic materials made form plants and animals and we can always grow more trees and crops, and waste will always. However, if we replant the crops, the new plants can use the carbon dioxide produced by the burned plants. Therefore, using biomass fuels can help to reduce global warming. Although its extraction proves may take a long time, it reduce the global warming. It can help the Earth to solve some environmental problems. Furthermore, there are many waste products of human or animals to burn. It is not same as the wind energy which only wind can generate energy and solar energy which only sunlight can generate energy. Also, it is lower price than other alternative energy for building some incinerators, solar cells and windmill. Therefore, I think biomass energy is lower price, can reduce the global warming.
In conclusion, I think the biomass energy is the best alternative energy to replace the fossil fuel. It is because biomass energy is lower price than wind and solar power; it is more helps for some environmental problem then wind and solar power. It is more stable than wind and solar energy. Therefore, it is a good idea to use biomass energy to replace the fossil fuel.

Firstly, biomass energy may cause food crisis. Because we need to use large area of land to be used to produce corn or cane for extracting. Then the supply of food will become lower. Also, the price of corn or cane will become higher. That’s make the farmers will plant less other kinds of food. Because the price of corn and cane are higher than the other food. Then we will not have enough food.
Secondly, before converting biomass into fuel, large amount of energy needed to be put in growing plants mass. Moreover, the extracting process may take a long time. Because plant the plants and food are need time. We need at least 10 years to plant a tree. It is too long.
Thirdly, the plants and crops can store carbon dioxide and release oxygen, if we keep going to replant the plants and crops to make fuels, it can help to reduce global warming. But if the plants and crops are not replanted, then biomass can emit carbon dioxide that will contribute toward global warming. Therefore, biomass energy is not the best energy to replace fossil fuels.
Compare to biomass energy, I think wind energy is a better choice to replace fossil fuels. Wind energy is renewable energy. The energy resource is free. Moreover, it is no chemical pollution will produced when the wind-powered electricity generating system is working. On the other hand, biomass energy may produce some pollution during the growing process. And we need to plant the resources to make energy.

When we burn the fossil fuel, it will produce carbon dioxide, if we burnt them continually, I will cause a serious problem. The cost of producing this kind of energy is low. Fossil fuel will cause greenhouse effect, air pollution and also global warming. It also has limited resources.
Nuclear energy is non-renewable energy.it will threats to human’s life if the plant explodes, many people will die. Waste materials are highly dangerous and it is difficult to dispose safely. And the serious problem is it will have radioactive. If people live near by the nuclear factories for a long period, they will have cancer because of the radiation. The cost of this energy is also higher than biomass energy.
Solar energy is a renewable energy; it will absorb the sunlight and then turn to be energy. That mean it cannot work without light. It can work without the need of a turbine and an electromagnet. Because of the solar cells, this energy needs a large surface area. The cost of this energy is very high because you need to buy the solar cells first.

I think that biomass energy is not the best alternative energy to replace fossil fuels. We can use comparison to prove that biomass energy is not the best alternative energy.
First, the source of biomass energy is plants and animals. And the most frequently way to convert them to electricity or chemical is formed by four processes of combustion, torrefaction, pyrolysis and Gasification. In the process of combustion, the carbon from biomass will be released into the atmosphere so it can also increase the greenhouse gases and the Earth still have global warming. Moreover, using biomass as a fuel will produce the same air pollution challenges as fossil fuels because the amount of carbon dioxide released by biomass energy extraction isn’t effectiveness to reduce releasing any greenhouse gases. Furthermore, biomass is the second largest contributor to global warming.
For the solar power, it is a renewable resource too. It is generation of electricity from sunlight. The primary advantage of collect solar power is: solar power is non-polluting because it does not emit greenhouse gases so it won’t pollute the eco-system. Moreover, it can convert solar energy directly into electricity. Meanwhile, the energy resource of solar power is from the sunlight so it doesn’t have to pay. The solar cells are required very little maintenance and the cells have a very long life time so that we don’t have to spend a lot of money to maintain the solar thermal collector. As a result, solar power collection is very convenient, fast and it is environmentally friendly.
Lastly, we will talk about wind energy. Wind energy is also a renewable energy source. It is to let the wind to turn the blades of a windmill. It’s just like a large fan on the hill, the wind blows the blades from the windmill and the blades make the turbine rotate and so, electricity is produced. As the process is non-polluting and free energy source, just like solar power.
There is a question always raised to reject the advantages of solar power and wind energy---the extraction of energy need a large area of land. Nevertheless, we can find that most of the alternative energy extractions including biomass energy, even fossil fuels extraction also need a large area of land. Therefore, this problem can’t prove that biomass energy is the best alternative energy of fossil fuels.
After the above analysis and comparison, we can find that biomass energy extraction has very many disadvantages, such as releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, cause air pollution and the energy source is not free. Meanwhile, we can see that using solar power and wind energy are better than using biomass energy. Therefore, biomass energy is not the best alternative energy to replace the use of fossil fuels.
The people have used the fossil fuels for many years, but there are always have the end of the things. Fossil fuels are not the exception. Also, fossil fuels have many disadvantages. I think one of the important is that burning biomass energy would cause the food crisis. There have many people who do not have enough food to continue their lifes. If the people burning the biomass energy, it would need many food. So the people cannot have the food. And it would be seem that the burning of the energy are even more important than the lifes of the people. Some people think that using biomass and replanting helps close the carbon dioxide cycle, so it would not cause the global warming. However, if the crops are not replanted, then the biomass can emit carbon dioxide that will contribute toward global warming. It would also cause some pollution during the process.
There have other different kinds of alternative energy. Just like the tidal wave energy: tidal power. It is the energy that uses the natural motion of tide to make the energy. It is also a kind of renewable energy source. Also, the energy source and the pollution are free. But the disadvantage are that it needs a lot of space to build up the tidal power generation. And the severe storms may destroy the power generation equipment. It may disrupt shipping or fishing too.
The wind energy is the other kind of alternative energy. It uses the power of the wind to produce the electricity. It is a renewable energy and the energy resource is free. Moreover, it would not produce the chemical pollution during the process of producing the energy. Yet it also have the disadvantages, it needs large areas of land to put the wind turbines and it is not always windy. If it does not have the wind, it cannot produce the electricity.
In conclution, although both of the tidal wave
energy ans the wind energy have the disadvantages. The biomass energy also have the disadvantages. And I think that the biomass energy are not mature enough to replace the fossil fuels. It is not the best alternative energy to replace the fossil fuels.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, it is the Harvesting Limitations. These sources are limited. This is not only doing to the volume that can be produced each year as one year. Most often these machines have very high energy requirements themselves and as a result the actual net energy gained from biomass fuel production is heavily limited. Until alternatives can be found or advancements made in order to allow for easier and more efficient harvesting biomass fuel, its viability as an alternative energy source will remain limited simply.
Second, it will cause food crisis. There are many people are not enough for eat and many people are died because they have nothing to eat. If we use so much food to be fuel, the remaining foods are not enough for us. It will cause a more serious food crisis in the world. Therefore, the prices of food will increases; people cannot buy food easily extreme disparity between the rich and the poor and the poverty gap will become more lager. Details of a criminal case will be increase because people are so hungry and they take food by storm. All country or city will be disarray.
On the other hand, I think that using solar energy or wind energy is better than using biomass energy. Solar energy is more stable than biomass energy and it is a renewable resource. Although it cannot be utilized at night or on cloudy days, its availability may be generally relied upon day after day. The solar energy supply will last as long as the sun. Wind energy also is a renewable energy and Wind power is an alternative energy source that harnesses the power of the wind. Wind is a renewable and clean source of energy, it is an abundant source of energy to power wind turbines for electricity and turbines that produce energy do not produce greenhouse gases or air pollution.
In conclusion, I think that the biomass energy is not the best alternative energy to replace the use of fossil fuels. Biomass energy may be one of the solutions to solve the problem of using fossil fuels, but not the best way to solve this problem.

So next time, try to make a draft before you start writing: start with the most convincing and important arguments first, then put the less convincing and less important arguments aside for a while. Then you will know how to slim down your essays, which may help in enhancing your performance in tests or exams.
