  1. I think"ban on idling engine " this proposal can help to improve the air quality condition in Hong Kong."ban on idling engine" is equal to switch off idling vehicles amd switch off idling vehicles mean stop the waste gases disposal. If cars switch off idling vehicles 3 minutes every day,it will lessen emission waste gas to the air.
This proposal will have some people oppose, example,Mr. Li,taxi owner drive.Ms. Cheung, school bus driver. Also, public light bus driver. Why they will oppose? It was because they need to wait for their passenger, they switch off idling vehicles, the compartment will very hot.passenger will uncomfortable and will effect their business. So,they will oppose.
Also,it'll have people support.Example,Ms. Lau, she is a shoe shop owner.Mr. and Mrs. Yau, who have two young chidlren studying in a Primary school in Mongkok.Ms. Tang, who is a traffic warden. She is responsible for enforcing the above ban. They will support this proposal,it was because the waste gases will effect their healthy, their job.
Moreover,I will support"ban on idling engine".Because this proposal can help to improve the air quality condition in Hong Kong.

  2. Recently, the government has tried to seek public opinion on the issue, "ban on idling engine". The government wants to solve the air pollution problems. I think the proposal ''ban on idling engine"can help to improve the air quality condition in Hong Kong because when we switch on the engine, it will release lots of exhaust such as Co2, co1. However, this is not the only one way to solve the air pollution problems. Vehicle and manufacturing exhaust are very serious.
Some of stakeholders may think that "ban on idling engine" is a good way to solve air pollution problems and some of them may not.
Let's talk about about some stakeholders that agree this mehtod first.
I think that Ms. Lau will agree this mehtod as she needs to have a business. Besides, Mr. and Mrs. Yau will also agree this because they may want their two young chidlren studying in a good condition.
I think that Mr. Li will not agree this method because it will affect his bussiness. It is inconvenient for Mr. Li . Moreover, passenger will argue with him. Ms. Cheung is also the same as Mr. Li. It will affect herbussiness. Ms. Tang will also disagree this method because she will feel ver hot in summer. In addition, it is very hard to measure the time for turning off the engine after a grace period of three
    minutes.

  4. I think this proposal is good for the environment and the earth. Because this can reduce the toxic gas from the cars. However, this proposal cannot execute extensively. Because the proposal need us to switch off the vehicles within three minutes. If we support this rules, we will be very 'painful'. In example, there was a schoolbus driver. He need to drive the students to school. If he switch off the vehicle, he will be very hot. Because the air conditioner was switch off with the vehicle in the same time. And the students who waiting for go to school will also very hot too. Therefore, the chance that the driver who follow the rules is almost zero.
However, there were some people who will support this proposal very much. In example, there was a shopkeeper. Her shop was facing to the street. The car released the toxic gas to her shop. Therefore, her shop had very few trade. Therefore, she will support this proposal very much.
According to the above example, I think this proposal is good for us to save the earth. But there were still some of the disadvantages.Hope the government can improve this. Don't let this good proposal gone bad.

  5. I think the government’s proposal that bans on “idling engine” can help to improving air quality in Hong Kong. Air quality affects our health in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, there are 275 vehicles per km on the road everyday. It is the main cause of air pollution. Air pollution includes pollutants such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone and carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide diminishes the blood’s ability to carry oxygen to the body. Nitrogen oxides irritate upper air passages and the lungs. They are harmful for children. They make them to sick such as headaches, aggravates asthma and allergies, lung disease and impaired learning.
According to the information, if the car is running, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides are 4.92 and 0.68. When the car is idling, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides are 4.0 and 0.2. All pollutants when engine switched off is 0. The first number and the second number are close. When car is idling, it looks like running car that exhaust more
carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. If every car tries to exhaust less carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. It can help to improve air pollution in Hong Kong but some people like stop the engine to wait people. If the government make law to ban on “idling engine”, it can help to improving air quality and our life in Hong Kong.

  6. I think this policy is a bad idea and I do not support this proposal.Firstly, the taxi driver may think that it is so inconvenient. If the engine is easy to burn out, then the drivers need to pay money to repair their car by themselves. The goverment need all cars conclude the vans and the wagons. But I think that if the goverment detrude this policy, not as good as grow more plants and limit the cars without the transport. It is because the transport need to shipping the wares or passengers.
And this policy is so diffcult to limit drivers to switch off the engine when they stop the cars.I think they will not to remenber this,it is because their cars to stop it also need energy to continue to switch on the engine. Then they may think that they are waste their own money to switch on the engine.
Scondly, the taxi need to wait passengers to come to their cars.If they switch off the engine at summer, then the air condition can not work and the box car will be hot so much. Then the passengers may do not want to travel by them.It is because their box car is hot and the other is the same, why not do not travel the other transport. For example, bus, train or MTR.Then the taxi drivers will not have a enough money to pay the prices for their daily life if there are less passengers to take their car.
So,I do not support this policy.

  7. I think the government’s proposal that bans on “idling engine” can help in improving the air quality in Hong Kong.It is because this proposal can reduce much of the air pollutants which is come from the car. The pollutants such as particulates, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone and carbon monocide have a direct and immediate to impact on respiratory function.According to the Emissions table, we can see that the air pollutants when the engine switched off is 0.If the government bans on idling engine, the air will be more fresh.
But,I think much of the people will not be agree this proposal.Maybe I list some example. There are a taxi owner and driver. If he have to switch off the engine when he are waiting the passenger. When the passenger get on the taxi,he will be feel so hot.And this will be reduce the income of the taxi driver.Ms.Cheung,who is a school bus operator. She is also the owner of the school bus company. If she have to switch off the engine when she are waiting students. The students maybe feel so hot when they get on the bus. Therefore,no one will support this proposal. So,I don't think it will be work in Hong Kong.

  8. I think the government’s proposal that bans on “idling engine” can help to improving air quality in Hong Kong because when you switched off the engine, it will release zero gram pollutants such as Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Oxides.Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Oxides will cause headaches, aggravates Asthme and allergies, lung disease and impaired learing. If we absort too many vehicle emissions, it will affect our body. I know some of the drivers will think this proposal is very trouble, but the government will provide a grace period of three-in-sixty minutes to drivers of all motor vehicles, and the first two taxis at the stands are exempted, so it's a good try for improve the air of Hong Kong.If the drivers support this proposal, the air of Hong Kong will become freshen and cleanse. So I think the government's proposal can help in improving air quality in Hong Kong.

  9. I think "ban on idling engine" this proposal can help to improve the air quality condition in Hong Kong. Because the air pollutants allmost is come from the car. But not only care about the car, it has many major sources of polltion such as forest fires, volcanic eruptions or other natural sourses, the cars make the earth be badly. I think it can solve the problen because when the cars switch on their engine, it release excessive sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone and carbon monoxide.
So when the cars are runnung the engine will still on, so that the engine will discharges excessive waste gases; and if the cars are idling the cars still excessivethe waste gases too. And the taix driver waits the passengers, if the switch off their engine in the summer, then the condition will not work too. The passengers wll not want to get in that hot taix.
Finally, the proposal can help the earth but somebody will get less money. So, I don't support the proposal.

  10. I think"ban on idling engine " this proposal can help to improve the air quality condition in Hong Kong.Although the drivers may feel not comfortable, all the people can feel more good and the air can be better.it will release zero gram pollutants such as Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Oxides.Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Oxides will cause headaches, aggravates Asthme and allergies, lung disease and impaired learing. If we absort too many vehicle emissions, it will affect our body.
"Ban on idling engine"is not only one car must keep this habit everyday.Actually, all the people who drive the car must it yourselves. The governmernt should take a part of people who do not ban on idling engine of drives.
Finally, the proposal can help the earth but somebody will get less money. So, I don't support the proposal.

  11. I think this proposal can help to improve the air quality in Hong Kong. It is because everytime you swhich off the idling engine, it will stop release the global gases like carbon dioxide, it iwll pollute the air.
Although the driver will feel comfortable when the car is idling and haven't swhich off the idling engine. But it is continued to release global gases. And when the strangers walk nearly to the car, it will make them feel uncomfortable. So if the proposal can be enforced, it will imoprove the air quality and our respiratory system will not be injured

  12. I don't support this proposal, because i think this proposal have many problem .
Firstly , many car drivers are not pleased with this proposal there are few points that they hate this policy.
-If they can't use the air-conditioners they will become uncomfortable and some passenger will feel hot. But the important things are the car will let the drivers feel inconvenient and when you turn the engine back on will make more exhaust then will be more air pollution that will violet the proposal purpose.
-The government to remit some car that they can switch on the engine but it will produce a argument that some car drivers will use this remit to argue with the government that is a contradiction.
So that is why I don’t support this proposal.

Yet, if he can also comment on the government 's chance in successfully carrying out this proposal, the content of his passage will be more complete. Since every stakeholders put their own self-interest in the first position, voices from them are different. That's why the government gives a consultation period of five months for the public to express their viewpoints.

  15. I am support the Ban on idling engine. But why I support the Ban on idling engine? It is because our earth sick already, but why our earth will sick? Because we have the environmental pollution, environmental pollution is the contamination of environment which causes disconism, instability, disorder and leaves harmful impact on physical system and on living organism. What kind of pollution? For example, air pollution. The definitions of air pollution are any contamination of the atmosphere that disturbs the natural composition and chemistry of the air, the major sources of air pollution vehicle or manufacturing exhaust. Too much manufacturing exhaust will trap heat in the atmosphere, this call greenhouse gases. Too much greenhouse gases will have the global warming. So we need to change the air quality in Hong Kong
If we have Ban on idling engine, the earth will be heal in coming year, so I am so support the ban on idling engine.

  16. I think the government’s proposal that bans on “idling engine” can help to improving air quality in Hong Kong because nowaday we go outside we will feel hand to breath when we stand near the road, when a running engin car on the road it will releas 4.92 cabon monoxide also a idling car will relaes 4.0 carbon monoxide ,but we turn off the engine there are 0 carbon monoxide .
i think the school bus driver will not support this , because he need to stay inside car for a very time, in the summer driver will feel hot so when they need to turn on air conditioner they need to turn on the engine first so i think the school bus driver will not support.

  17. I think i will support this proposal,"Ban on idling engine " is a good and effective way to protect the environment."Ban on idling engine" is a proposal from the goverment for drivers to switch off engines while the vehicles are waiting.Drivers who leave their engines idle will be served with a $320 fixed penalty ticket.
A running private car will release 4.92 carbon monoxides; a idling private car will release 4.0 nitrigen oxdies,if they switch of the engine, there are no more carbon monoxides and nitrogen oxdies.
(c)I think Ms.Lau will totally support this proposal, she is the shoe shop owner, the entrance of her shop is facing the street;if a car is parking outside her shop, that car will release many carbon monoxides and nitrogen oxdies, so it will cause some customers will complaint or even leave immediately.
Many people will disapove this proposal, because somne drivers worried that after the ban they have to switch off and restart the engines frequently, may leading to extensive wear, also is inconvenient to them.

  18. I think i will support this proposal. It is because i think hong kong air pollution's problem is very troble. We need to be more serious. Most of the air pollution is came from cars. This proposal can let the people know that.If we want to have a good environment to live, we should solve this problem now. Therefore this proposal can let the driver know that we need to improve now

  19. I don't support this proposal, because it will produce much more pollution problems.

Firstly, for example, a taxi driver in hot summer, when he is waiting for the passenager,he is not willing to stop the engine, so he will keep driving round and round. In this case, the air pollution will become serious.

Secondly,if a vehicle starts the engine frequently,it will produce more pollutant to the air then it is in using, so this''Switch off Iding Vehicle''proposal may lead to more pollutant dispose in the air.

Thirdly, to start and stop the engine frequently, may cause parts fatigue. The driver need to change the vehicle's parts frequently. The wastes will increase the bearing of the landfill. It will lead to land pollution.

Furthermore, the wastes disposed to the landfill may cause toxic leakage. Through rainwater, the toxic substances will go to underground water. It will cause huge damage to the ecosystem.

My own opinion, I suppose to use some clean fuel to run the vehicles or just replace the present with the electrical vehicles than this proposal.

  21. ' Ban on idling engine' is a proposal of HONG KONG. I agree this proposal because it can help the environment become better.
HONG KONG is a small city. However, there are many ways are releasing too much carbon dioxide. For examples, there are many peoply drive their cars, vans, trucks for work or do something else.If the drivers can switch off the cars,vans,trucks...when the cars are stoped,we can reduce to release the carbon dioxide. It is healthy for the pedestrians as well.
If all of us do something to protect the world, there will a big difference of the world. If the drivers can switch off their cars for few minutes, it can help protect the enivronment so many.

  22. I think the proposal "Ban on idling engine" can the air quality in Hong Kong effectively. Everyday there are lots of vehicles on the road. If all the vehicles are not turn of the engine when the car stop, then it will release more execsive gas. Then that will affect the air quality and cause the air pollution. But if we did it, there would release less waste gases.
If the proposal "Ban on idling engine" is working effectively in the world, I think the air pollution intex will decrease so fast. It is a good way to solve the problem of air pollution.

Air pollution is a general term that refers to the emission of harmful substances into the air .Then these substances will make human unhealthy. However, air pollution in Hong Kong is very serious. The main source is the intensity of traffic. If A private car is runing,it will emission 4.92 gram carbon monoxide and 0.68 gram nitrogen oxides per minute. When the private car is idling wil emission 4.0 gram carbon monoxide and 0.2 gram nitrogen oxides per minute. You can see that no much changes the pollutants produced by the car is runing and idlling If the car switched off will not emission any pollutants .However many taxi drivers in Hong Kong dislike this proposal, because they think is very inconvenient and they may be earned less money so that they will not obey this proposal.I think the proposal is very good ,it have the fine system that the taxi drivers will obey this proposal and then emissions from the cars will reduce. Moreover,Emissions from the car caused many diseases .Therefore,I think this proposal will improve air quality in Hong Kong and we will have a healthy body.

  42. I think I will support the government to implement this proposal: Ban on idling engine" Because I think this plan is good for a lot of people, although that scheme is good for our Earth. Why? It is bceause if we indraft too many exhaust gas, it will effect our life. Also our health's problem. But the most big problem, I think that is about our Earth. As our Earth is started to have a greenhouse effect. And beside our Earth is started to appear greenhouse effect, that is made by greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases that have water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. The car will release the greenhouse gases when it still on. And some people donlt turn off the car because they don't want the car that be too hot when they come back to the car. So, they will turn on the car and turn on the air-condition to keep the temperaturn that inside the car.As air-conditioner will prodect the chemical call freon.
And it will destroy the atmosphere. So, I will support this proposal.

  43. Yes,I very support this proposal"Ban on idling engine".Hong Kong have many pollution.Air pollution also is a serious problem in Hong Kong.
Why there are a serious problem in Hong Kong?First of all, fossil fuel.Fossil fuel is a non-renewable energy. It will release carbon dioxide. The fuel of motor car also is fossil fuel. When we Ban on idling engine,we can release less carbon dioxide.Do you think it is a good measure to save our world?I think it is.
Secondly,I know many motor car driver think Ban on idling engine is a troublesome thing. But,when you are enjoying the cool air in your own car,the people who are outside your car will feel toilsome.I know it is not easy for the motor car driver. But it is good for our world!

  45. I support this proposal. First, I think this is good for our environment and the earth. It is because this can help release lese toxic gas from the cars.
The drivers need to switch off the idling vehicles within three minutes. May be These rules will bring so problem for us for example, the taxi driver need to drive the passenger to the place that they went to go. The car will be come hotter because of the driver switches off the vehicle and the air conditioner will be switches off at same time. The passenger may choice to take another taxi.
But the proposal is good for the environment, it help to release less greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide. It can help retard global warming.
Around off all the point, I support this proposal.

  46. I think ban on idling engine is good for us. It is because this may cause air pollution. It emissions of harmful substances into air. The harmful substances such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone, carbon monoxide, etc. These will effect our healthy and cause headaches and ling disease. According to the survey of comparison of emissions while vehicles running and idling, the emission of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides of a running private car are 4.92 and 0.68. However, the emission of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides of an idling private car are 4.0 and 0.2. We can see that an idling private car emission of harmful substances is nearly to a running private car. Therefore, no one can deny the hard fact that the idling cars are causing air pollution. Judging from the above, it is obvious that the government should ban on idling engine. It is surely can help in improving air quality in Hong Kong.

Other than those who do so for reasons acceptable to the public (for example, drivers of emergency vehicles who keep the engines of their vehicles running while stationary for operational reasons and drivers of goods vehicles with a built-in refrigerator carrying frozen foods), most others leave their engines on to keep the air-conditioning running for the comfort of themselves, particularly during hot weather, at the expenses of the air quality.
Hong Kong is facing two air pollution problems: street-level pollution and ambient air pollution. The former is mainly caused by the intensity of vehicles in our dense urban environment and the latter by both local and regional emission sources. To improve air quality, we have to tackle both problems head on.
Besides, Hong Kong has the highest road traffic density in the world. We have about 550 000 vehicles with a total road length of only 2000 km.The high road traffic density, together with the high urban density, impedes air pollutant dispersion and traps air pollutants at the street level. Thurs, I support to ban Idling Vehicles with Running Engines, and provide a Green Generation.

  49. Edith 3C(15), I would like to agree with your opinion but I wonder why you didn't write in English? There are some words I cannot understand.

  50. Express your viewpoint from different prospectives.

    Should it be "perspectives"?
